Despues de unos años en el BSCS debo decir que me arrepiento de mi desición y tengo varias cositas que me sacaron la piedra muchas veces a travez de los años:

1- Muy pocos cajeros. En Colombia si no sacas del cajero de tu mismo banco te cobran un usurero impuesto por usar la red de alguien mas. Como los cajeros y oficinas de Colmena no son los suficientes siempre termine en el cajero de Bancolombia o Servibanca. A travez del tiempo que pase con Colmena, he debido pagar un sobrecargo muy alto solo por usar mi tarjeta.

2-Inflexibilidad absoluta: me han ocurrido 2 casos donde la infelxibilidad absoulta de Colmena me ha dejado sin opciones y botado, donde otros bancos hubieran ayudado felizmente.

Por ejemplo, una vez me encontraba en Argentina y se me perdio la tarjeta debito. Normalmente un banco con sentido común, entenderia que posiblemente esta tarjeta debito podria ser la unica forma de conseguir dinero para uno de sus clientes en el exterior. Cuando llame al banco para que me reempazaran la tarjeta ellos respondieron que no podian hacerlo ya que solo aceptaban este tipo de reemplazos en persona. Es decir, no les importa nada dejarte botado en un país extranjero sin dinero, con tal de seguir sus inflezibles protocolos. Cuando le conte el caso a amigos, algunos tuvieron experiencias similares, excepto que al ser de otros bancos se les habia dado respuesta a su problema. Si no hubiera sido porque mi esposa tenia su tarjeta de otro banco, no se que me hubiera pasado.

Otra vez nesecite agregar una segunda firma a mi cuenta. Esto en otros bancos SE por experiencia que no es un problema. Pero en Colmena solo te dejan hacer la segunda firma en el momento de abrir la cuenta. El asesor me dio la sugerencia ridicula de “Cerrar la cuenta y volverla a abrir” para agregar la otra firma. Que procedimiento tan ridiculo y que muestra de poca practicidad por parte del banco. Entre muchos inconvenientes que esto puede generar me pregunto: Que pasa con la antiguedad de la cuenta? En Colombia si tu cuenta no tiene mas de 1 año de apertura no te permiten recibir transferencias bancarias del exterior por ejemplo.

Hablando de trasnferencias del exterior, estas son increiblemente dificiles en Colmena. De por si son dificiles para todos los bancos Colombianos ya que se los bancos asumen inmediatamente que los clientes son criminales que estas lavando dolares que vienen del narcotrafico. Esta presunsión es compartido por todos los bancos del mundo a la hora de recibir dinero de una cuenta Colombiana, sin que nunca ningun oficial Colombiano se siquiera queje al respecto. En el banco Colmena ademas, toda transferencia del exterior debe ser prosesada en persona por el beficiario ademas muchos otros estupidos requisitos. He recibido plata del exterior en otras cuentas en Colombia y el de Colmena es el procedimiento mas dispendioso.

3 – Pesimo servicio al cliente :  La oficina de Pepe Sierra con 19 tiene un servicio al cliente que muchas veces me ha dejado con la piedra afuera y hablando con el supervisor solo para que este me informe que la intransigencia del banco y sus cajeros es culpa de mi ignorancia como cliente ya que yo deberia ser un experto en economia, papelo y transacciones comerciales para ser dueño de una de sus cuentas. Señores Colmena: no tengo porque ser un experto en economia ni en transacciones bancarias, es su deber como banco educar y explicar a los clientes sobre los diferentes prosesos burocraticos que gobiernan su actividad.

Mi ejemplo favorito de instrasigencia de Colmena es el de la oficina de Unicentro donde la fila de “Clientes del banco” solo se permite para los clientes pero de esa misma oficina, es decir, si soy cliente de Colmena pero mi cuenta es de otro lado tengo que hacer la fila de “no clientes” que siempre es MUY pero MUY larga.

Me voy del país con el firma proposito de conseguir un nuevo banco si nesecitase una cuenta en Colombia.

Thanks to the geniuses that made the redesign at fabrica.it some projects that were hosted there are offline. One of them is Flipbook.

This lack of planning destroyed the efforts of all the community of the original Flipbook toy wich had built a huge number of animations in the years 2005 and 2006.

At the ex-alumni list there has been lots of critics of the redesign made by http://www.wehavephotoshop.com/ . Even thou some find the graphic style to be more dynamic and energetic, it is not what touched me the most about it.

The site Jon had made was not perfect, but it was pretty good. With all the endless back and forth approval rounds with the higher powers, he had managed to include some great features: Students had “student cards”, their own mini-page on the site and a system to upload images, text and others about their projects. There was info on applying to Fabrica. There was an active blog. There was even a small “grafiti” wall wher random people could draw on the sides of the site and express opinions. The site was fully dynamic and made to the best technical standards of web design. Jon is a very trough kinda guy.

The new site on the other hand, has none of these. Fabrica has changed a lot this last couple of years. Maybe it should not be a surprise that students no longer have mini-pages on the site.

The site doesn’t even have any information about applying. That says a lot to me.

And here is the kicker: i went and clicked on the link marked “Students”. To my surprise the fabricanti.com site had been hijacked without permission and it was displayed there on a frame under the “fabrica.it browser”. I say wihout permission because they didnt bother to tell me or Daniel (the other site admin), about any of this.

Its really kinda funny if you think about it. We started fabricanti.com as a way to keep all the former students still in touch with each other. We “borrowed” the structure of the original fabrica student database made by JH and we used it to make our small project. It was small little site, not very important to anyone except us and definitely not endorsed or approved in any way by fabrica. It was our own. Little by little former students started to join. Not very actively but still.

Fast forward to now. The small site is now being showcased by the official one. And we didn’t even know it. Since they probably threw away the old site, it’s a good guess to say we now hold the most complete copy of the fabrica students community ever, past and present. (i hope they made a backup of that at least)  [ UPDATE ] Actually somewhere buried within fabrica.it, the old version is still available 

As owners of fabricanti.com, Daniel an I welcome this change because it drives, at least for the moment, traffic to our little fabricanti.com. And another thing: think about it, we could just post anything we wanted there… and fabrica could not do a thing about it …not that we would. We are playing nice.

It’s not all bad thou, at least there is some humor to the page. In the source code (see image bellow)
